The Commons Thonglor — What's Inside, Floor by Floor

By Joe Thonglor — Thonglor neighborhood writer & fact-checker ·

The Commons Thonglor is the community mall that became the neighborhood’s landmark — an open-air concrete structure in Soi 17 designed for lingering all day rather than shopping and leaving.

Floor by floor

  • Ground (Market) — the heart: a curated food hall spanning craft beer, wood-fired pizza, seafood and punchy Thai food, with communal seating in the middle
  • Middle (Village) — lifestyle shops, workshops and kids’ stores
  • Top (Top Yard)Roast, Bangkok’s definitive brunch spot, plus a lawn and event space

When to go

  • Weekday mornings — quietest; coffee and laptop time
  • Weekday evenings — the best atmosphere, golden light, comfortable crowds
  • Weekends — liveliest, often with markets and events, but seats are competitive

Getting there and parking

It’s in Thonglor Soi 17 — a THB 30–40 motorcycle-taxi ride from BTS Thong Lo. In-building parking is limited; evenings and weekends, take a taxi or bike.

Don’t miss

  1. Roast — the brunch that started it all
  2. The craft beer counter on the Market level — one of the area’s best selections
  3. Seasonal pop-ups — the tenant mix rotates constantly, so every visit has something new
