Thonglor Bars 2026 — 16 Verified Open, 9 Quietly Closed

Thonglor is Bangkok’s most polished and varied nightlife district — in one night you can go from a 360° rooftop to a serious cocktail den to a legendary late-night canteen.
For this page we opened Google Maps and checked every venue one by one on 29 July 2026 (our team lives in Thonglor — how we verify), and found that nine well-known Thonglor bars have permanently closed while nearly every guide on Google’s first page still lists them. So we’ll start there.

Note that Beer Belly and BEAM were both inside 72 Courtyard — the complex closed and took its tenants with it. Everything below is confirmed still open.

- Octave Rooftop — 4.4 (6,130), the most-reviewed venue in the neighborhood, on top of the Bangkok Marriott. Opens 5pm, 360° views; arrive before sunset for an edge table
- The Commons — Soi Thong Lo 17, a semi-outdoor terrace; start with craft beer, no dress code to worry about

Late (11pm onward)
The sois around Thonglor 10–13 hide a rotating cast of speakeasies and listening bars — exploring on foot is half the fun.
Finish at 55 Pochana — 3.9 (1,022), open 6:30pm to 3:30am (until 4am Fri–Sat), the late-night Thai canteen that has outlasted most of this list.

Tips
- Check the Buddhist holy days before you go out. Makha Bucha, Visakha Bucha, Asalha Bucha, and the start and end of Buddhist Lent are nationwide alcohol sales bans — most bars close or shift their hours. (The day we ran these checks was Asalha Bucha, and nearly every listing showed a special-hours notice.)
- Book everything bookable on Fridays and Saturdays — Black Cabin, Another Round and Stoke all take reservations straight from Google
- Many venues here are inside buildings or community malls (Market Place Soi 15, theCOMMONS Soi 17, SODALITY Soi 13, Major Tower, Indy Market) — check the floor before you go; these are not street-front bars
- Use ride-hailing apps late at night — taxis waiting outside popular venues often refuse the meter

Frequently asked
What time do Thonglor bars close? Most open between 6 and 7pm and close around 1–2am. The late outlier is 55 Pochana, open until 3:30am (4am Fri–Sat). The earliest opener here is the 1923 Highball Bar, from 4pm.
How much do drinks cost? Most venues publishing a range on Google sit at THB 400–1,200 per person. Cheapest here is Gaze Cocktail Bar at THB 400–600; priciest is J.Boroski at THB 1,000–1,200.
Which soi has the most bars? Soi 10 through Soi 13 is the densest stretch, plus clusters inside the community malls — theCOMMONS (Soi 17), Market Place (Soi 15) and SODALITY (Soi 13).
Are 72 Courtyard and HAUS BANGKOK still open? Both permanently closed — see the table above; nine venues in total.
Thonglor or Ekkamai? Thonglor leans toward cocktail bars and rooftops at higher prices; Ekkamai is more relaxed hangouts and live music at gentler prices. They sit side by side and some sois connect them, such as Thonglor Soi 10.
