Thonglor Soi 9 — What's Actually On It, Not Just Named 9

Thonglor Soi 9 may be the most misleading soi in Thonglor to research online — both because sources disagree on its postcode, and because well-known restaurants keep getting attached to it that aren’t actually on it.

This page separates what’s genuinely on Soi 9, checked by opening Google Maps for each venue individually on 17 July 2026.

Where Thonglor Soi 9 is — and what its postcode actually is

Short answer: Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, per what Google Maps currently shows.

Worth stating because sources give different postcodes:

Note both sources agree on the sub-district and district — Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana. But 10110 is Watthana’s postcode; 10250 belongs to an area on the other side of the city. For paperwork or deliveries, use 10110.

The soi runs off Thonglor Road (Sukhumvit 55), near the Sukhumvit end.

⚠️ Careful: a “9” in the name doesn’t mean it’s on Soi 9

This is the main trap here. Two well-known restaurants routinely mentioned alongside “Thonglor 9” are not on Thonglor Soi 9, according to the addresses on Google Maps:

9Nine sits in the Marché community mall on Thonglor Road — the “9” is the brand name, not the soi number. Nagiya has a Wongnai page titled “Nagiya ทองหล่อ 9”, which is likely where the confusion starts, but its Maps address isn’t on Soi 9.

Both are good restaurants worth visiting — just don’t look for them on Soi 9.

It’s the same pattern as Thonglor Soi 10, where the M Thonglor 10 condo isn’t on Thonglor Soi 10.

These three carry Soi 9 addresses on Maps, and hold over 2,400 reviews between them:

Google flags congee and duck noodles as its popular dishes; reviews keep coming back to the shrimp-roe noodles and how “just like Hong Kong” it tastes
• Aharn (131 Thonglor Soi 9) — Thai, rated 4.3 from 1,049 reviews, ฿2,000+ — dinner only, from 18:00, and worth booking; not a lunch drop-in
• Shin Yakitori (159/17 Soi Sukhumvit 55, Thonglor Soi 9) — izakaya, rated 4.3 from 144 reviews, ฿200–400, open 17:30 till late, right at the mouth of the soi. Reviews single out the sashimi set and yakitori, and there’s often an early-evening beer promo

This one soi holds both a ฿200 and a ฿2,000+ end — Hong Kong noodles and a four-figure Thai restaurant sit a few dozen metres apart, but on different clocks: the noodles run from midday into the evening, while the Thai restaurant and the izakaya open for dinner only.

Red songthaews (small shared pickups) run the length of Thonglor Road — cheaper than a motorbike taxi but you wait. The motorbike-taxi queue sits at the mouth of Thonglor near Exit 3.

Maybe not for you if: you’re after nightlife. Venues here close earlier than on Thonglor Soi 25, which has a disco and karaoke running past midnight.
